A Peaceful Weight

Image: Death to the Stock Photo

His toes brushing my foot.
Fingers tickling my ribs.
Warm breath on my neck.
Soft lips.
His hair brushes my cheek,
Head heavy on my shoulder.
Fourteen kilos of pure rage
Only an hour ago but now
A peaceful weight on me.
My heart reaches towards him,
beating out of my chest.
Arms cradle this giant
A baby once more.
A drowsy rustle brings a deeper cuddle
And a contented smile.
